First Layer Problems
Symptoms
Poor adhesion, gaps between lines, excessive squish, inconsistent height, or first layer varying across the bed.
Checks
- Clean the build surface using a surface-safe method.
- Verify bed temperature and material profile.
- Check bed tramming and gantry alignment.
- Verify probe operation and mesh.
- Re-check Z offset.
- Inspect nozzle for partial blockage or damage.
- Confirm first-layer speed and extrusion settings.
Do not compensate for warped or loose hardware solely by changing slicer flow.
